Hello, World!
TRUE FOB™ Miscellaneous Construction Standards
1. Moisture Content Standards
All plywood used must have moisture content ≤ 15% (±1%), and all solid wood must have moisture content ≤ 12% (±1%).
- Spring Rails: Moisture < 15%
- Show Wood: Moisture < 12%
- White Wood Stage: Moisture < 10%
- Assembly Stage: Moisture < 12%
- Finishing Stage: Verify moisture still under 12%
2. Standing Water Test for Table Tops
Apply water to finished tabletops for 30 minutes. Check for swelling or veneer lifting. No damage means the tabletop passes.
3. Dining Table Leaf Pins
Leaf pins must be mounted into a separate wood piece under the tabletop, not directly into the tabletop itself.
4. Lighting Systems in Furniture
Only LED lights are allowed. Lighting must be easily serviceable without product deconstruction.
5. Glass Panel Standards
- Rubber gaskets must hold glass panels.
- No plastic retainer clips allowed.
- Glass panels thinner than 6mm must be tempered.
6. Mirror Construction Standards
- Mirror backs must be fully finished to prevent raw wood reflections.
- Plastic film must be applied to the mirror glass back.
- Mirror brackets mount to the case and mirror frame with bolts that install into threaded inserts mounted in the case and mirror frame, 4 in the mirror frame (2 on each side) and 4 in the case (2 on each side)..
- The distance between the two inserts mounted on each side of the mirror frame and the two inserts mounted on each side of the case, should be equal. This will allow the mirror bracket to be reversible.
- There is no top or bottom to the mirror brackets, they will line up with the threaded inserts no matter which end of the mirror bracket is facing up or down. Threaded inserts must be located in the special parting rail at the top of the case. This is the starting point(fig34).
- Mirror brackets must be reversible and tinted to match frame finish.
- All bolts are the proper length and must use a 4 mm allen head. Mounting bolts should be pre-installed on the mirror brackets using “captured” styled hardware
- Use oval slotted holes for mounting.
7. Measuring Guidelines for Furniture
How to Measure Sofas, Loveseats, and Chairs
Height, width, and depth are measured from the furthest points. Seat height uses an adjustable T-square to ensure accuracy.
How to Measure Sectional Wedges
Measure height from the floor to the top. Width and depth measured from furthest points including any curves.
How to Measure Chaises
Measure height, width, and depth at the widest and tallest points of the chaise.
How to Measure Ottomans
Measure width (longest side), depth (shorter side), and height (floor to top).
How to Measure Recliners
Recline fully and measure wall clearance and overall depth from headrest to footrest.
Seat Height and Depth
Seat height: Floor to seat cushion top.
Seat depth: Seat surface from back cushion to front edge.
8. Recommended Measuring Tools
- Wooden measuring posts
- Adjustable T-Squares
- Levels
45mmWide x 13mm thick
The total length of the mirror bracket (A) should be at least the same length as the height of the mirror frame (B) and less than the diagonal length between opposite corners of the mirror frame (C).
Round or oval mirrors should be mounted as pictured below, using four attachment points on the mirror frame and four on the case.
